Ancaster Property Values

The market has been moving very well the past year and prices have increased 5.4% YTD over last year (at July 30th) in this sector.  Here are some indications of how your neighbourhood is doing.  Look for the streets around your home and see what the listing prices have been.

The market has switched over to a 'Buyer's market' in May, from a 'Seller's market' earlier this spring.  The new tighter mortgage qualifications that came out mid April have reduced the number of first timers to the marketplace and the HST and threatening mortgage rate increases have shaken buyer confidence somewhat to reduce their numbers.  Summer months have also traditionally been a slower buyer time as well.

Sellers on the other hand, saw the busy spring market and corresponding price increases and began putting their houses up for sale just as the market began to change... Leaving now more more inventory with fewer buyers.  It was forever thus... supply and demand makes the real estate market swing along.
